About Me...
When you look up the term “geek” in the dictionary, you would probably find my picture there. I own it. I'm proud of it. My favorite things to do are play on the computer, design fun stuff for family and friends, read eBooks, go to the movies and watch epic series like Harry Potter, Star Wars, Avengers, Game of Thrones, and more.
I believe good design is not optional. It is integral. Good design can make people remember you, boost sales, affect change in society, and make things easier for people to understand and use. My personal style is to always start with function before form - if something doesn't work it won't matter how attractive it is. Once the function is established then I focus on making it visually appealing. I am currently the Marketing Manager at Morgan Community College. It is my job to create the print, digital, motion, and social graphics and media projects for the college. This includes the college as a whole, programs and courses, events, and it's associated divisions. I am responsible for purchasing advertising, working with printers and marketing managers for a variety of publications, and managing our Marketing workload. I help with photography, social media, and analyzing the processes by which our students get to know us and how those processes can be more efficient. Previously I spent 10 years as the lead Multimedia Faculty member at MCC and taught online courses through other colleges as well. If you would like a sample of how I teach check out my YouTube channel for tutorial videos related to a variety of media design skills. One of my favorite things to do is freelance design in all areas of media. I have worked with a variety of individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations, including:
