Platte River Brewing
My good friend Andrea L'Heureux and my bestie Doug L'Heureux asked me to help them make a logo and branding system for a brewery they want to start in Fort Morgan, Colorado. This branding was to help them write a business plan and hopefully win $10,000 to start the business from Morgan Community College's Entrepreneurship course.
The initial plan was to only make a logo that in some way incorporated the Rainbow Bridge - which is an iconic bridge over the Platte River in Fort Morgan. Doug and Andrea wanted a logo that was appropriate for an older, relaxed clientele (30-55), gender non-specific, and had a distressed quality in some way as that would reflect their interior design choices. As they started exploring ideas for business names, slogans, beer names, etc. they decided on Platte River Brewing. They also have a cool slogan, but it is top secret for now! The final result showed the Platte River in a cool, modern blue-on-blue palette, the Rainbow Bridge with beer bottles for pylons, and a combination of feminine and masculine fonts with a distressed twist to give it texture and style. I am happy to say that Doug and Andrea won 2nd place and $8,000 for their business! We are so excited to see what happens in the future - and I am geeking out about being able to create all of their print materials - especially the menu. Because I am so excited I already started working on their brand identity system, t-shirts for employees, etc. |
